What is Reiki

• I discovered Reiki back in 1998 while in college becoming a massage therapist.  A few years later I started my Reiki journey and became a Reiki Master in 2006.  Over the years I’ve come to realize how important Reiki has been in my life, both professionally with clients and personally with my personal Reiki practice.  I am so pleased to be able to both treat and train people in this beautiful therapy.

• Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique involving the laying on of hands to encourage stress reduction, relaxation and healing. It works on the life force energies that flows through us.  When our energies are low, we are more open to sickness, disease and distress.  Reiki will replenish this life force energy and allow it to flow freely throughout your physical, emotional and spiritual bodies.

• Two Japanese words make up the word Reiki.  Rei translates to ‘Gods wisdom’ or ‘the higher power’, and Ki translates to ‘life force energy’.  So, Reiki is really ‘spiritually guided life force energy’.

• Reiki always creates a beneficial effect.  It is a simple, safe and natural method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that anyone can use.  It also works well along side all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
